What is Treated & Who Can Benefit?

With 40 years of experience Stuart has found that the traditional PT perspective dovetails well into the more holistic view of yoga. Some patients will end up with a more traditional approach while others will have a modified yoga program as their home exercise routine, depending on their needs.

Stuart feels the yoga perspective, which looks at the whole body from the center out, has enhanced his ability to diagnose and treat patients.

Yoga adjustment

He believes this particular treatment style is best suited to treating patients with chronic injuries of various body parts, such as back, neck, knee, hip and shoulder. This style is especially fitting when there is a history of postural issues, sports-related injuries and/or over-use/strain injuries.

Stuart’s many years of experience with acute injuries allows him to choose how to decrease irritation levels before working on return to strength and flexibility.

His 25 years of treating patients in an acute care setting in the hospital, allows him to expertly set up treatment plans for post-surgical hip or knee issues.

Having taught yoga since 1993, Stuart feels that the yoga student who is recovering from a setback is especially well-suited to therapeutic exercise from his combination of anatomical knowledge and yoga experience.
